talyq is a daily ledger. you log virtues. you log vices. you get a score. this policy explains what data is collected, what is not, where it lives, and what your rights are.
talyq is operated by an independent developer. this policy applies to talyq.com, the talyq web application, and any future mobile application that links to this policy (together, the “service”).
1. email address. used to identify your account, send your license key after purchase, and send transactional emails (payment receipts, account-related notices). no marketing emails are sent unless you explicitly opt in.
2. payment information. when you purchase a founding seat, payment is processed by lemon squeezy. lemon squeezy collects your name, billing address, email, and card details. talyq receives only a transaction confirmation and a license key assignment. talyq does not store your card number, cvv, or full bank details.
3. logs you create. the virtues, vices, weights, and daily entries you create.
4. optional accountability partner email. if you choose to enable an accountability partner, their email address is stored so we can deliver them your daily score. the partner sees only your score, never your individual virtues or vices.
5. basic technical metadata. device type, browser, operating system, app version, and timestamps of logins. used to keep the service running and to diagnose problems.
the behaviors you log on talyq may include sensitive information about substance use, sexual habits, mental health-adjacent behaviors, or other private matters. all logged data is treated as sensitive personal information, regardless of how you label it.
your individual log data will never be shared, sold, licensed, or analyzed by any third party for any purpose other than:
data is shared only with service providers strictly necessary to operate the service:
each provider is contractually obligated to protect your data and use it only to perform services for talyq.
data is not shared with advertisers, marketers, data brokers, or any analytics platforms outside this list.
some service providers operate servers in the united states, european union, and other regions. by using the service, you consent to your information being transferred to and processed in these jurisdictions.
for users in the european economic area and the united kingdom, standard contractual clauses are used where required.
regardless of where you live, you have the following rights:

eu/uk users (gdpr). you have additional rights under the gdpr and uk gdpr, including the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
california users (ccpa). you have rights under the ccpa, including the right to know, the right to delete, and the right to opt out of the “sale” of personal information. talyq does not sell personal information.
industry-standard security practices are used, including:
no system is perfectly secure. in the event of a data breach affecting you, notification will be sent within 72 hours of the breach being identified, along with details of what was accessed and what steps to take.
talyq is a general-purpose tracking tool. users define what they track — a virtue could be reading, exercise, sleep; a vice could be excess screen time, sugar, missed homework. there’s no inherent adult content in the product. if a parent or guardian has concerns about a minor’s use, email hello@talyq.com.
this policy may be updated. material changes will be notified by email at least 30 days before they take effect. the “effective” date at the top of this policy will reflect the most recent version.
